Where Do I Start?
First of all login to your newly created blog. You should have received a conformation email with a link to your admin login page with your username & password.

• The best thing to do first is choose your template through “presentation”. Simply click on your favourite looking template and it will automatically be chosen.

• Once you have chosen your template you can post a message/blog/journal. Go to “write”, “posts”, put in the subject title and your entry. Once you have finished click on “publish”. This will show up on the front page of your site. A post will show up under the categories area. If you have chosen to create your own categories you can choose where you want the post to show before you publish your page in the menu area on the right side of your entry.

• You can write a page if you wish. A page can be something like “about us”, “birth story”. A page will show up under “pages” and not within a category.

• You can change the category names or add new categories by going to “manage”, “categories”.

• You can add links to your blogroll. They can be links to your favourite websites, friends blogs etc.. by going to “blogroll”, “add links”.

What Are My Controls?
The tabs are what control your blog. You can play around with them to see what they do or you can read below;

Dashboard

• Dashboard - Main page of your blog admin where you can see the latest activity regarding your blog

Write

• Write - Here you can choose to create a post or page.

Manage

• Posts & Pages - Here you can manage your post & pages via editing or deleting
• Uploads - You can manage your uploaded photos/images.
• Categories - You can create categories for your blog ie: My Baby, Family Days etc.. You can categorise your posts to file under these categories
• Import - If you have posts or comments in another system, WordPress can import those into your blog
• Export - You can save your blogs content by creating a XML file and import it onto another blog

Comments

• Comments -You can search through the comments made on your blog and through options you can choose to moderate comments

Blogroll

• Blogroll - Blogroll is another word for “links”. You can add links to many sites you love
• Categories - You can change the widget name to “links” instead of “blogroll”

Presentation

• Themes - Here you can choose a template to use to personalise your blog
• Widgets - Here you can change or re-arrange the sidebar/menu’s on your blog

Plugins

• Plugins - You do not have permission to add or use plugins (disabled by admin)

Users

• You can add other users to write for your blog by assigning a role
• Profile - You can change your profile details here including password

Options

• General - You can update the name of your blog, tagline and more
• Writing - You can alter option defaults for every new post/page you create
• Reading -You can alter option defaults on the way pages are read/shown on your blog
• Discussion - You can alter discussion options of your blog
• Privacy - You can change if you want your blog crawled by search engines
• Permalinks - You can choose how you want your page urls to show your posts
• Delete Blog - If you delete your blog you will need to register again
